  5. Points and operations with points

    1. Short info about points and money (details are below)

      • Points can be sold at any moment for money. It can be done in the "Purchase/Sell" section.
      • For being in the Member Top you get daily rewards: 50 points if you are in the Top 1-3, and 5 points if you are in the Top 4-50.
      • For uploading files you get 2 or more points. To get these points you have to follow some rules, listed below.
      • If you find a file that violates the rules and place it under suspicion, then you get some points in case your suspicion is confirmed by a moderator or court.
      • For voting in the court you get some points in case your vote was correct.
      • For moderating files you get some points regardless of your decisions.
      • If you have uploaded a file and placed a link on some other site you get 0.5 points per visitor.
      • Point's starting price equals 0.1 Eurocent. It changes according to the administrator's and user's point count ratio.
      • From time to time we organize contests, for which you get points if you win.

    2. Users accounts

Every user has 3 accounts with the following functions:

      1. primary. On this account there are points that fully belong to a user and that can be freely used. All possible operations are available.
      2. temporal. On this account there are points that were temporary given to a user until they are checked. They are not available to any operation. On this account you can find those points that are given immediately after uploading a file. Only after 24 hours, if the file is not blocked points go to the primary account. Otherwise points are rejected.
      3. pledge. On this account there are all points that are left by a user as a pledge. For example, participating in the Court of Users he gives 20 points as a pledge when he gives his voice. If a file is blocked he gives a certain amount of points as a pledge. If his file is blocked by somebody then his points are taken temporary as a pledge.

When a user is registered he receives 100 points automatically.

    3. Maximal size of one uploaded file

Maximal size of one uploaded file depends on the number of points a user has: 1Mb = 1point
    4. Points for files

A user minimum gets 2 points for each uploaded file. If a file exceeds 10Mb, then for each other 10Mb 1 point is added. If you upload a 100Mb file you get 2 + 9 = 11 points.

Points that are added for uploading a file do not become active at once. These points are added to the temporal account. Only after 24 hours after the uploading of the file, if the file was not blocked, points are transferred on the primary account.

This can happen in following situations:

      1. File and folder were available “For public access”.
      2. Name of the file and its description is different from that of your other files. If a user upload using a program (Reddy) and gives the same data to several files then points are given only to one of those files.

    5. The rights of a moderator

Each moderator on ufiler.com has an opportunity to check files and to receive points for it.

      • How does a moderator work?

Each user has an opportunity to accuse a file of violating and should note the reason for the accusation. A user can also suggest to change the data of a file. The role of a moderator is to check such files and to make a decision or, if he is not certain about the decision, to send files to the Court of Users. Anyway, a moderator receives a certain amount of points for checking files.

To be a moderator means not only to have advantages but it also means to be responsible. In case of a mistake users have rights to complain to the administrator who can check work of a moderator. If rude mistakes are found the moderator will loose certain amount of points from his account. The rights of the moderator will be blocked for some time as well.

      • How can I become a moderator?

To buy the rights of a moderator you have to observe the following:

        1. To be a registered user at least for 6 months.
        2. To have your profile image (if your image is deleted checking is rejected).
        3. To have at least 100000 points on your primary account. Rights themselves cost 50000 points, other 50000 points are left on your account as a pledge. If you have less than 50000 points your rights are blocked till your points increase to a number that is more than 50000.

      • I want to become a moderator right now!

To become a moderator you have to click on the following link: To become a moderator

      • For violating the rights of a moderator there are supposed the following penalties and blockings:

        1. 1 violating – 1 month of blocking of the rights of a moderator and 500 points fine
        2. 2 violating – 2 months of blocking of the rights of a moderator and 700 points fine
        3. 3 violating – 3 months of blocking of the rights of a moderator and 1000 points fine
        4. 4 violating – 6 months of blocking of the rights of a moderator and 2000 points fine
        5. 5 violating – full blocking of the rights of a moderator and 2000 points fine

If a moderator is blocked and after blocking time is up he doesn’t have 2.000 points the rights of a moderator remain blocked. A user has to have at least 2.000 points on his account.

    6. Points for suspicion, blocking and restoration of files

For each file that was suspected of violating terms of use by other users you have a certain amount of points that are transferred from your primary account to your “pledge” account. These points remain there until the file is checked by a moderator. The moderator can make following decisions:

      1. To block the file. In this case you loose those points that were left as a pledge. The majority of those points goes to that user who blocked your file and to the moderator.
      2. Reject a suspicion. In this case those points that were left as a pledge will be transferred back to your primary account and you will receive a certain amount of points as a payment for damage. These points will be taken as a penalty from the user who wrongly put your file under suspicion.
      3. Send a file to the Court of Users.

    7. Payment for views

For each viewing of your file by other users or visitors you receive 0.5 points on your temporary account. If the file is not blocked in the next 24 hours then all the points that are got during this time are transferred on your primary account and you can freely use them. Points are given according to the following rules:

      1. Your file has to be viewed at least 5 times in 24 hours.
      2. For each viewing you get 0. point on your temporary account.
      3. If the file is not blocked in the next 24 hours then all the points that are got during this time are transferred on your primary account .
      4. Repeated views by the same user are not taken into account.
      5. Views by one user are taken into account only for one file. Views by the same user of other files are not taken into account.
      6. If the file is blocked then points that were got for the last 24 hours for viewing the file are deleted from the temporary account

    8. The Court of Users

The Court of Users decides the destiny of a file in the case when a moderator couldn’t decide whether the given file has to be blocked or not.

The Court of Users lasts 24 hours. If after 24 hours there are less then 9 voices or voices ‘for’ and ‘against’ are equal in number then the Court lasts for other 24 hours until there will be at least 9 voices or until the number of voices ‘for’ and ‘against’ will not be equal.

When a user gives a voice ‘for’ or ‘against’ blocking a file he leaves a pledge of 20 points. These points are taken from his primary account and put on his 'pledge' account. Those users who win get their points back plus the average of all points of those users who lost. Users who do not win lose their points that were left as a pledge.

For example, for bloking a file 20 users gave their voice ‘for, and 10 users ‘against’ blocking. Each user leaves a pledge of 20 points (each user must have at least 50 points on his account). So we get 20*20+10*20 = 600 points. The group that gave 20 voices (the majority) wins. All in all there were 20 users in this group. They get their points back. Points of the group that lost are devided in equal among those who won (minus 25% for Filer). Points of those who lost: 200 (-25%=50 – for Filer); 150 / 20 = 7.5 points. Each user gets his 20 points plus 7.5 points of those who lost. Filer gets 50 points.

The Court of Users doesn't cancel the penalty of the owner of the file (owner) and the profit of that user who blocked the file (random user).

    9. Restrictions

      • If a user has 5 temporary blocked files and he has less then 100 points then an opportunity to upload files is temporary blocked for him.
      • If a user has less then 10000 points he cannot block files.
      • If a user has less then 10000 points he cannot change the data of files.

  6. Other

    2. How do you count online time?

The meter resets when there is an automatic change of the status to “away” or “offline” at a long absence of activity. It is also reset when the status is changed manually to “away”, “busy” or “invisible”. The change of the status to “not available” doesn’t reset the meter.
